Our young people are still CRYING 4 HELP, when will we Listen?

I'm an Uber driver and come into contact with the public whenever someone enters my Uber. They're usually in the car for 8 to 35 minutes or more, but that's time enough to understand the road they're walking and the sites they see. One of the first things I say is, "Good Morning", "Good Evenings" or "Thank You for Giving me a Job", this lets them know I am working for them at this time and will do what I can to make their day a pleasant one. When I come across someone I believe has had a not-so-pleasant experience to this point, I will generally be polite and ask about the weather or some current event. If at this point I understand they wish not to talk I leave things at that. Yet, if they respond with a statement that will move the conversation forward then I move to a point where they will take over the conversation a good topic in this day in time is when will the shootings and killings in society stop and why did it start in the first place?
